Critiques
This image blows me away, the quality of the illumination is amazing and the composition is very pleasing.
The sky on the right does appear to have blown highlights as suggested in one critique, but if you shot this in RAW it is possible that there is image information that could still be retrieved to provide additional detail there. If there isn't, I do not think it is a defect that significantly alters the quality of the image if you could just tone it down a little so it doesn't look blown. At most a little judicious cloud or sky cloning in post processing would do the trick.
The other critique suggests a couple of potential cropping alternatives and though they are both nice in their own right, they also eliminate much about the quality of the illumination that makes this image so appealing to me.
The only thing that stood out to me was that there might be a little more in the foreground than needed. I love the red of those flowers as well as the way they are illuminated, but I think this is a case where the entire composition would be improved by showing just the tops of those red flowers. That would also move the compositional focal point back toward the far trees and sky which is where I think most of the interest lies. Like those two bushes to the far left. That is detail that I believe needs to stay.
So, here is what I did, After a 3.7% horizon correction, I cropped off just about 25% or so along the bottom bringing it into a square aspect ratio. A very small crop on the right side also helped balance it out. Placing it on a grid that put the top third crossing at the horizontal line of those two bushes and along the horizon put it into what I thought was the best composition to show off your image while retaining the original integrity. That crop is here [link]
Really that's all, except I do agree with the idea that the red flowers would benefit the balance of the composition a little better if they could be bumped a bit to the left. That is something I might experiment a little with using the cloning tool, but I am not sure if it isn't OK to leave that alone.
You live in such a beautiful region that you have so many great opportunities for beautiful photos. Going out at the golden hour just adds the icing to the cake. Beautiful image!!! Great image from your little point & shoot.
I also like the color the red plant gives to the scene. But I find the path and stream distracting, they compete with each other for attention. You could try cropping the path out and cropping at the bottom as well, to keep the aspect ratio.
I also really like the scene on the upper right corner and that would make a lovely photo by itself. The tall tree would make a nice focal point. I'd suggest a square crop for that one.
Here are examples of what I mean
